A recent leak confirms EA’s December release date for Need for Speed: Unbound. Criterion Games, a British studio, is rumored to be working on it, making it their first Need for Speed game since Need for Speed: Rivals in 2013.
Assuming that any of these leaks weren’t done on purpose, EA has had trouble keeping Need for Speed: Unbound under wraps. After temporarily hosting an Unbound picture, EA promptly removed it. Moreover, Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming revealed the game’s impending release late last month.

A product listing for Need for Speed: Unbound was discovered on the Japanese retail website Neowing, and the news was revealed by the gaming journal Gematsu. Prematurely posted information claims the PlayStation 5 game will be out on December 2, 2022. Notably absent from this leak is any indication of a PC or Xbox Series X/S release. Yet it appears possible that Neowing doesn’t have the other editions. In addition, there is currently no evidence that Needs for Speed: Unbound will be released on older gaming systems.
The Need for Speed Unbound confirmed the game’s forthcoming release date and featured some in-game pictures. The four shots are somewhat low quality, but they show off the new game’s general aesthetic. Need for Speed games before 2019’s Need for Speed: Heat focused on photorealism. Need for Speed: On the other hand, Unbound mixes things up by incorporating anime- or comic-book-inspired characters and visual effects alongside the usual realistic automobiles and locations.

Twitter users’ reactions to the stolen photos were divided. Some fans appeared pleased with the inclusion of cel-shaded visuals in the upcoming Need for Speed game. Many people weren’t as excited about it because they said it made the game look like Fortnite. Some others reacted with snarky comments like, “well, this is a design, I guess.” Some commenters even picked up on the divergent opinions.
